St. Charles County Faces Population Growth Challenges

Staff Report / StCharles

During a recent lunch meeting, Mike Elam, the District 3 Councilman for St. Charles County, discussed concerns about population growth in the St. Louis metropolitan area. Participants noted that the region is experiencing stagnation in its population numbers and highlighted the trend of younger individuals leaving the area. According to reports, St. Louis ranks third in the U.S. for the percentage of its population aged 65 and older, following only Tampa and Miami.
